Personal Information

I am an undergraduate student at Alverno College majoring in Mathematics and English Literature. This summer I will be working with Dr.Iqbal, researching location privacy in a ubiquitous computing environment.

REU Goals and Milestones

  • Survey the area (On Going)

  • Find out what has been done so far(In Progress)
  • Become familar with programming in a ubicomp environment(On Going)
  • Develop a solution and try it out
  • evaluate and apply solution in an application

Week 1

Tuesday, June 1

  • REU Orientation
  • Acquire swipe card access to nessasary spaces
  • Begin reading survey papers on location privacy
  • Talk #1 "Good Research Practices"

Wednesday, June 2

  • Continued reading papers and taking notes

Thursday, June 3

  • Still reading many survey papers
    • Reading these papers is much different from reading literature and I am finding that it takes a long time to read these papers for comprehension.
  • Meet with Dr. Iqbal to discuss progress so far, tasks for the upcoming week, and goals for the summer.
