I sing with and am the assistant music director of the Naturals, the all guys A Cappella group on campus. During the school year I work as a tour guide for perspective students and as a Math tutor for the Educational Opportunity Program in Milwaukee. I also run hurdles for Marquette's Division 1 track team. I am also a member of German club and the Tabletop/RPG gaming club. About me
My name is Ross Bravo and I am a senior studying Mathematics and Computer Science at Marquette University. My mentor for the Summer 2020 REU is Dr. Aleksandra Snowden and our research is Association between crime, places, and neighborhood characteristics.
Outside of research is that I am a very involved student. I am the president of Marquette's chapter of Pi Mu Epsilon, the U.S. honorary national mathematics society. I sing with and am the assistant music director of the Naturals, the all guys A Cappella group on campus. During the school year I work as a tour guide for perspective students and as a Math tutor for the Educational Opportunity Program in Milwaukee. I also run hurdles for Marquette's Division 1 track team. I am also a member of German club and the Tabletop/RPG gaming club. Weekly Log
Week 1:
- Participated in orientation and the Data Science boot camp.
- Attended the good research practices talk.
- Met with my advisor and discussed an outline/plan for the summer
Week 2:
- Worked on and completed the Responsible conduct of Research modules form the CITI program
- Began reading prerequisite literature on relevant topics to our research.
- Started to log the information gained from the readings in quick annotated bibliography's.
